A.LutonFrom humble beginnings SouthBank has become a hugely popular venue south of the river and an integral part of Bristol's cultural landscape hosting a vast array of events, dance classses, film, theatre and comedy. The annual event is one of the highlights of our calendar to celebrate 2024 so far and kick off the new season of events. Lunch, bar and BBQ from 12 noon. Live music and performance throughout the day starting at 1.30 pm. Expect a high energy danceable set for the evening gig from firm Bristol favourites 'Helele' playing an infectious mix of W. African dance beats. (P.S....sshhh...we'll also be celebrating Jess' arriving at a certain age). Afternoon performers include Andy Luton..playing Hotclub/Gypsy jazz, inspired by the legendary Django Reinhardt. Prepare for swinging and bossa nova jazz and enjoy a dance!..Andy Luton Jazz.mp4...Nick Roll (Acustica) and Sofia will be playing a late afternoon set with new songs that are in the process of recording.
