Our screening on Sunday May 14th (returning to the second Sunday of the month) is Too Many Crooks (1959). Considered a 'B' movie when made, it is a reminder of a time when Britain made better comedy movies than any one else. It introduces Joe Melia and showcases a plethora of post-war comedy talent ... like Sydney Tafler, Terry Scott, George Cole, Sidney James, Bernard Bresslaw and Terry-Thomas. (And had such longevity that it was remade by Hollywood in 1986 as Ruthless People, starring Bette Midler and Danny DeVito.)
