This month's screening (Sunday Jan 8) is The Turning Point (1952), a variation on film noir starring William Holden, Edmond O'Brien and Alexis Smith. Directed by William Dieterle and based on a then renowned US senate investigation into organised crime, it is a tightly wrapped tale of romance and political intrigue from a seasoned cast.
