The 'SouthBank Club' is a busy venue, social club, meeting place and melting pot for creatives, dancers, poets and their friends and just about anyone else who enjoys good music, dance, good beer in a friendly smoke-free atmosphere. Formerly the 'Holy Cross' Working Mans Club, it still retains much of its original flavour but is currently being redeveloped to include a new programme of live music, dance, cinema and theatre alongside the regular skittles nights and Sunday night sing-alongs. It's a unique social mix where you can drink a pint of flat Bass, do a salsa or ballet class, join in the open-mic nights or just listen to the endless stories from the locals. There are lots of opportunities to get involved on a voluntary/part-time Situated on Dean Lane in Southville, Bristol, just two minutes walk from Asda car park and 10 mins from the city centre on foot, the venue comprises an upstairs multi-purpose space/dance studio with sprung floor, a downstairs live music venue and bar and a rear skittle alley/function room leading to a garden area. Basic membership is free and allows access to the club and activities. Other membership options provide cheaper access to gigs and a range of other benefits.
